Friday May 3 we left Astoria and crossed over the Astoria bridge into Washington . We are on our way to
northern Washington. We drove the coastal route route half way and then turned
inland and followed the route up along the many bays off the Strait of Juan de
Fuca. The road is very narrow and twisty at times. Arrived at Gilgal Rv park at
4pm , in the town of sequim (prounounced like swim but add a q after the s..
sqwim). This is

Rain Forest National Park on the west coast |
about 20 miles east of Port Angeles where we will cross over to Victoria. This town is gorgeous. They have snow covered mountains to the west and east and the strait between USA & Canada. The mountains create a dry area … as the winds come off the ocean the rain dumps before the mountains.. this area averages 17 inches of rain a year. It is so dry they need irrigation for the fields. There is a festival this weekend , we plan to take in the strongman competition, tractor pull and lumberjack contest.. we can see the poles set up the rv park. We have taken a few scenic tours, bike rides and hikes along the beach since we arrived here. Enjoy the pics ..
