May 17 we packed up and left Victoria for a 450k drive north
to Port McNeill to visit with Bonnie,s nephew & wife and our son Tim.Can’t go
much further north than Port McNeill. You can see the mainland across the water
with snow capped mountains in the distance., beautiful . The area reminds us of
Newfoundland. Drove to Port Hardy and walked the waterfront. Also drove to
Telegraph cove.. remote fishing village. Lots of bear around, warnings every
where..Max $50,000 fine for feeding bears. We did see two bears .. one on the
road to telegraph cove and the other on the day we left. After Port Mcneill ferry ride to the mainland to Powell river to visit more family.
