May 28, Powell River

Since we arrived at Powell River we have hiked two trails. One was to a high point in the area, the other was thru a rain forest. Bonnie used a set of metal spoons hanging from her jacket as a warning bell in case of bears. The Powell River area is surrounded by heavy forest and the bears are plentiful. While visiting uncle John and having coffee in the  backyard we spotted the same bear three times.. small bear, maybe young 2 year old. There was a shellfish festival on the weekend and we enjoyed music and food. Oysters are the big seafood harvest here. Enjoy the pics
From the back of the rv looking at Vancouver Island .. water is the Strait of Georgia
