We have arrived at 49er rv park in Columbia, Ca after 5hr drive .We will be here for a week and use
this area as jump off point to tour thru
the gold country and Yosemite National Park.
First about the rv park. This is a
unique campground, nothing we have seen before. The sites are not huge but the
challenge to get into each site is formidable. All sites are back in and some
you have to back in from the entrance to the park.
First touring we did was to a hike thru the woods to a
natural bridge . The water has created a hole thru the rock and you can walk on
the bridge it created . After the bridge we drove to Ironstone winery where
they have on site the largest crystalline gold specimen found in the gold rush
days in California.
On Wednesday ,April 10, we toured Yosemite National Park.
The drive was as expected, steep winding road up to the mountains and then down
to the valley floor.Yosemite has huge forest, lots of rock formations and water
falls. The weather has been great . High 70’s and cool in the evening. Enjoy
the pics. We head to Napa on Sunday, April 14. Stay tuned.
