May 13, Victoria , B.C.
Monday May 13.. the rv is all packed and we are headed to Port Angeles to catch the
ferry over to Victoria ,BC. The ferry is a 1 ½ hr ride to Vancouver Island. We
had no problems with customs and found the rv park after a couple of wrong
turns. It is close to the downtown area.
We did a tour of Butchart gardens on Tuesday and toured the country side on
Wednesday. Thursday we met up with friends we met in Phoenix who have a home
within walking distance of the rv park and they took us on a driving tour of the city.. what a beautiful city. The harbour is great .. tourist type of harbor.. lots of boats and float planes.Next stop is Port McNeill .. northern Vancouver Island to visit family.

May 11 loggers competition, tree felling
The tree felling was based on time and accuracy.The time portion is obvious , the fastest. Every cutter judges where the tree will fall and places a watermelon in its path. If the tree falls on the watermelon the cutter is successfull. But to win he has to be the first to do it as they all start at the same time, I think I counted 15.
