June 17 Donald, Golden triangle Drive B.C.

This is how the train gets over the rockies

Bottom right  and middle left.. entrance to rail tunnel

Pure Canadiana.. Lake Louise and canoeing

Happened to catch this one in flight

Overpass for wildlife crossing

Typical scenery thru rockies... what happens to all the snow when it melts?

One arm in B.C., the other in Alberta.

Saw these two guys hanging around beside Radium Hot Springs, they blended well into the hillside.

These big guys are lazing around in a parking lot .

June 7 Vernon

Friday June 7 .. we were up early and on the the road by 8am, headed to Vernon B.C .Beautiful drive thru the Okanagan  valley . We arrived at the rv park at 2pm.. the park is situated outside of Vernon on Swan lake . Met up with friends we met in Phoenix and went to happy hour in the park..Hiltes of our visit were .. off to a huge craft sale and listened to bagpipers. Drove to the highest point in Vernon and saw the whole valley before us,And on our way stopped at a honey mead farm .Off to  the town of Lumby for Lumby days and watched motorbikes jump ramps ( one guy lost control after landing and got hurt, put an early stop to the event)..Short hike to Shuswap falls ..We hiked Turtle mountain, another vista point in Vernon. After ,we stopped at Davisons orchard, neat little apple farm that caters to the tourists. Talked to Bob for ½ hour about the history of the area, Bob is 2nd generation of 4 who is working the farm ( grampy).Mid week we were at our friends for pulled pork and two other couples  we had met in Phoenix, like old home week. Plan to leave on Saturday June 15.

June 4, Osoyoos,B.C.

On the road by 8:30 am  Tuesday June 4 , headed for Osoyoos ,B.C. This is as close to desert climate in Canada. This is in the Okanagan valley which is home to many types of fruit orchards and vineyards. The saying goes..if its not hot in Osoyoos its not hot anywhere in the valley. We saw temps in the low 30’s the three days we stayed there. The town itself has all the amenities you need and just the right size. On Friday June 7 we head for Vernon B.C.

June 3, Stanley park

June 3 Vancouver & Coquitlam

Saturday ,June 1…we left Powell river early in the morning to catch the ferries to  Vancouver (there are two ferries ).On our way we saw a full grown black bear run across the road .On the first ferry by 9:30 and then drove 85k to the next .The road was so twisty it took 1 ½ hrs. Arrived at our friends (Gary & Donna)  in Coquitlam by mid afternoon and parked in their yard. Sunday we rode our bikes around Stanley park. It is a gorgeous park and utilized by many. There were bikers , runners, walkers, skate boarders  and rollerbladers . Even though there was a separate path for bikers , at times you could not pass the slower bikes because of the  numerous oncoming bikers. Also being on the waterfront we saw many sailboats , kayakers and war canoes. Monday was a rest/cleaning day. Tuesday we leave for Osoyoos to  meet up with more family.
